 – A Fulton County judge has decided there is enough evidence to charge the man accused of sexual assault at a Midtown nightclub with aggravated sodomy.

The alleged assault, which made headlines across the country, was streamed on Facebook Live.

Investigators said the assault took place at Opera Atlanta nightclub on the Jan. 20 and was streamed live on Facebook. In late January, 34-year-old Dominique Williams turned himself in to police, was taken into custody, and charged with sodomy.

The woman, 30-year-old Jasmine Eiland, said she had come to Atlanta to celebrate her birthday. It was at the nightclub where she met Williams.

During the night, Eiland says she took a few sips of her drink and began feeling dizzy.

“She had a couple of sips of the drink and began to feel woozy, weak. At this time she was still on Facebook Live recording everything, and then she slumped over,” a detective with the Atlanta Police Department told the court.

The detective said Eiland called police from the car as she drove home to East St. Louis to report the sexual assault.

The defense team for Williams brought a witness who claimed Eiland was not in distress and joined a twerking contest while with Williams.

Police also said a second woman has come forward who has said she was sexually assaulted by Williams in September of last year, but she did not report it at the time.

Eiland, a mother of five, has filed a lawsuit against Opera Atlanta and other parties, alleging negligence, failing to have the appropriate amount of security, and failing to monitor certain areas of the club.
